About me
I began my clinical work supporting individuals navigating complex and chronic trauma, including PTSD related to interpersonal, systemic, and institutional violence. I have worked with a wide range of communities, including veterans, individuals impacted by the criminal justice system, LGBTQ+ clients, and survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence. These experiences shaped my commitment to creating therapy that is deeply attuned, respectful, and grounded in each person’s lived experience.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years working as a professional chef, which sparked my interest in the connection between food, body, and identity. Alongside this, I trained as a yoga teacher and meditation practitioner, deepening my understanding of the relationship between mind, body, and emotional experience. I also hold a background in visual art, which continues to inform my creative and flexible approach to therapy.
At Columbus Park, I have received advanced training in Enhanced Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-E), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and DBT Prolonged Exposure for PTSD. I also draw from Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and Specialist Supportive Clinical Management (SSCM) in my work.
I view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for meaningful change. My style is collaborative, authentic, and engaged. I bring curiosity, humor, and openness into the room, and I think carefully about the broader social and cultural contexts that shape each person’s experience, including systems of power, identity, and belonging. As a non-binary, queer therapist, I value creating a space that is affirming, nonjudgmental, and grounded in respect for all identities.
