Planning for treatment.

Beginning eating disorder treatment often comes with practical questions about fees, insurance, and the course of treatment. We hope the information below answers many of those questions, and we're always happy to discuss any additional questions during your consultation.

Length of treatment

Many evidence based treatment protocols involve approximately 20 to 40 sessions over 20 to 40 weeks, though treatment length varies based on diagnosis, symptom severity, progress, and individual goals.

Session frequency

Adults receiving individual therapy often begin with twice weekly sessions before transitioning to weekly sessions. Family Based Treatment (FBT) for children and adolescents typically meets once weekly.

Treatment Plans

Treatment recommendations are individualized. We do not require packages or long term commitments. Session frequency and duration are based on clinical need and are reviewed regularly.

Fees and Insurance

Columbus Park is a private pay practice. We do not participate directly with insurance plans, but we provide detailed superbills that many families submit for out of network reimbursement. Reimbursement varies depending on your insurance plan and out of network benefits. We encourage you to contact your insurance carrier to learn more about your specific coverage.
