Jillian Paganelli

As a dedicated Feeding Coach, I bring over a decade of experience and a passion for helping young children and teens with Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) and their caregivers navigate the complexities of feeding disorders.

I spent seven years within the Intensive Day Patient Behavioral Feeding Program at St. Mary’s Hospital for Children. This renowned program, serving families in the Tri-State area and beyond, exposed me to a diverse range of cases, from infants to teens, grappling with moderate to severe feeding disorders. I worked closely with patients facing a myriad of challenges, including an inability to progress in textures, nutritional deficiencies, dependence on tube feedings, ongoing weight loss or poor weight gain, food refusal, mealtime tantrums, and an extremely limited variety of foods.

I have experience working alongside a multidisciplinary team comprising GI specialists, Nurse Practitioners, Dieticians, Speech Language Pathologists, Behavior Analysts, and Psychologists to embrace a holistic, family-centered approach, addressing the needs of the whole child while providing intensive coaching to their caregivers. Through consistent training and immersion in behavioral coaching methodologies, as well as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Parent Management Training, and Beckman Oral Motor Protocols, I honed my skills to better support the patients and their families.

For the past five years, I have extended my services beyond the hospital setting, providing personalized coaching to children, teens and families in the comfort of their homes. Now, as part of the esteemed Columbus Park team, I am thrilled to contribute to the support network for families of children/teens with ARFID. In my coaching practice, I prioritize collaboration, goal setting, and action plans tailored to each family's unique needs. I firmly believe in the power of individualized approaches, recognizing that there's no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to feeding disorders. I am committed to fostering a supportive and goal-oriented environment, where families feel empowered to implement meaningful changes week by week.
